This is a trailer unit that has a diesel generator which supplies up to 4 room heaters.
This unit also has fans which we use to distribute the heat thoroughly in the structure.
For every bed bug and treatment in Georgia we seal the rooms being treated and then start the heat process.
We have a wireless computer system that communicates with electronic temperature sensors which are placed in various areas of the rooms.
We can then monitor the exact temperature of each sensor unit from outside or nearby.
After the temperature gets up to 100 degrees we reenter inspecting for bed bugs. They start emerging from their hiding places at this time. This gives us an idea of where they are nesting and approximately the degree of infestation. After the temperature reaches 122 degrees the bed bugs start dying.
We heat the room up to 130 to 135 degrees and sustain that for about 2-3 hours or more.. The fans are important because we can place them in areas with thick cloth and they force the heat through these items.
After the treatment is complete we can print out a detailed report showing the exact times and temperatures of each sensor unit.
A log report and a graph is printed out showing this detailed information.
Our Thermal Remediation Treatment kills all stages of Bed bugs including the eggs.

Why is Bed Bugs Heat Treatment So Much Better than Using Chemicals?
by Garey Clark Published 03-10-2014
Historically, bed bug treatments have primarily used chemicals to reduce and control the pest. Recently, pesticides have shown to be ineffective in managing infestations with single bed bug treatments. An informal survey of pest control operators conducted by an entomologist at the University of Massachusetts found that 68% of all bedbug infestations require three or more treatments, 26% require two treatments, and 6% require just one.
Another concern with pesticide use is the development of resistance to the pesticides used in the treatment of bed bugs. The Integrated Pest Management Association found that by 1956, DDT resistance was so widespread that the control method had to be changed to Malathion. Results from current research conducted by the University of Kentucky show that bed bug resistance to insecticidal products that have pyrethroids as an active ingredient has become significant. The excessive use of pesticide solutions may result in the bed bug developing greater resistance to current methodologies. Oftentimes this leads to overcompensating by increasing amounts of chemicals. This can be a dangerous practice. Clark's Heat Treatment is a simpler control methodology which alters a bed bug’s natural environment, making it lethal to the bedbug.
Pesticides can also pose a threat to the environment. DDT was an effective chemical in significantly treating bed bug occurrences in the United States before it was banned in 1972 because of the reproductive effects to birds from chronic exposure to DDT. Bird exposure to this insecticide mainly occurs through the consumption of aquatic and/or terrestrial species that have been exposed to DDT (WHO 1989). Like other chemicals, DDT was able to work its way through the ecosystem and cause adverse health and reproductive effects to many animals in the food chain.
Finally, some people may be sensitive to chemicals as a result of neurological or other medical disorders. These people may not have the option to use chemical solutions as part of their control method. Clark's Heat Treatment is a non-chemical process and therefore is the practical solution for people with chemical sensitivities and is ideal for treating health care facilities, hospitals, and schools where chemicals are not an option.
I was impressed with Garey's quick response after I submitted a request for information on their website. He was professional and set up a meeting right away with his bed bug dog, Ben. Garey and Ben saved me hundreds of dollars. After a thorough inspection, no bed bugs were found. I would use Clark Pest Remedy again and will recommend them to others.

To Whom It May Concern:
In May, 2011, Garey Clark and Clark Pest Remedy treated our two-story house for bed bugs using their state of the art thermal remediation equipment, followed immediately with a pesticide application for assurance of ridding our home of its bed bug infestation. The treatment was very successful, with still no sign of recurring bed bugs after almost 6 months! Several months before calling Mr. Clark, we had hired a conventional, nationwide extermination company for $1,000.00 who had failed to rid our home of bed bugs, despite pesticides applications on three separate occasions due to bed bug recurrences.
However, concerning Garey Clark and his staff, we were completely satisfied with their professionalism, thoroughness, efficiency, and friendliness in getting the job done in a timely fashion. They clearly explained what we needed to do to prepare our home and furnishings before beginning the treatment. We had checked them out on the Internet, and called two of their references before hiring them to do the job. We discovered only very positive recommendations and results from their previous customers.
We would heartily recommend Garey Clark and his company Clark Pest Remedy to rid your home or business of any bed bug infestations. Their price was reasonable for the effective treatment received, and was considerably less expensive than the quote from a nearby competitor offering similar services.
